As challenging and discomforting this may be for many, Cosmic Wheel would like to invite you to an evening to towards a cure for schizophernia. We will be hearing a personal story by Richard Schweizer who has suffered schizophernia for 9 years. Through his story you will discover hope, freedom, love and the importance of community involvement in mental illness.
Following Richard we will hear Prof Cyndi Shannon Weickert who leads a translational research program that uses insight from the molecular and cellular neurodevelopment of schizophrenia to design and test novel treatments for people with schizophrenia. Cyndi will share how her team have identified that there is immune activation in the brains of people with schizophrenia suggesting anti-inflammatory agents may be of therapeutic benefit.
As part of our Wheel tradition the opening of the night will be a sacred sound meditation by Heartswin / Sar Friedman and at the end of the night we will be drawing our raffle with great prizes from Jambuana, Margaret Brandman, Rawesome Chocolates and much more!
